Focus: Child Nutrition in Rural Haiti

AVSI, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), has been working to improve child nutrition, especially for young children, and babies. While simultaneously promoting breastfeeding, AVSI has developed a locally produced, infant fortified complementary food for children ages 6 months – 2 years. AVSI is working with the University of Notre Dame Haiti to equip a processing unit where this cereal can be processed using agricultural inputs from local farmers.
